Golf

As you've likely heard, the "golf outing" will be held today in Milford, CT. If you're attending, have fun.

...and if you're not going, have fun anyways!

Will Lou be there? Lou needs more air time with his impressions!

Ha, well I didn't go, so that includes me! :) I'm sure we'll hear all about it tomorrow.

I agree, he does need more time with his impressions...they literally make me LOL about 90% of the time.

Anyone having problems logging into Inside Imus?

I was one of those 'outed' at the Great River Club yesterday. Four of the best holes of golf I ever played. Don spoke eloquently about the Ranch, and Rob was on fire! A great day, despite the rain and the cold. I had a great time. If Rob reads this, I was the guy he called 'a thumb'. I was very honored to be picked out of the crowd.

Mark Levin sounds like Imus used to sound...

Imus needs more guests like Levin, who aren't afraid to get R-O-W-D-Y!

Patty Lovelace? :) Al, you must be in Bernie's camp. They're all funny on this topic, very entertaining.

At the risk of causing a stir, I'll say that I enjoyed Dr Phil yesterday, especially when he said about Michael Vick "people like that don't get better" - I agree.

Um, that was the real Dr Phil wasn't it?

Inside Imus is back up.

FYI, I e-mailed them late last night about not being able to get into the site or access the podcast. They responded by early this morning.

Nice.

I'm glad that the website got straightened out...

I thought it was funny that the "real" Dr. Phil made an appearance, I'm sure that threw a lot of people for a loop. Also, Mark Levin is not a very subdued man...

The golf monsoon sounded like a lot of fun, I'm glad that they raised some money and that everyone had a good time.

And you gotta love Patty Loveless...LOL

wow, Bo is in the news, big time...

Bo called Imus from Italy this morning. They did not put him on the air live. To say Bo was not a happy camper is putting it mildly.

He is cutting his visit short to return to the US. Imus played the call just after 8:00AM ET.

Bo is holding a press conference Monday after he does the Imus show.

Thanks, Coach, for the follow up about the site issues. Seemed to be some issues with the podcasts on Monday, as each hour's file was only about 10 minutes, so I missed Craig Crawford :(

Keeping my fingers crossed on this Bo situatation. This seems to be the second I-Fave in potential hot water this week...Not sure if anyone noticed this piece about Bill White:

Levon Helm Band in DA House...1st week of October...

Imus gonna put that Big ole FOX studio to good use!

Ugh, I hate to hear that about Bo..I hope everything turns out OK for him. Judging by the article, the informant doesn't sound like the most trustworthy person, anyway...

Thanks for the article about Bill White, Mike - I didn't catch that one.

Speaking of podcasts, I've noticed that they often cut off a segment. Could be just me, though.

That's great about Levon! Now that's a performance I can't wait to see. :-)

Levon sounds like an old, old man with a whiny voice..I cannot stand to listen.

I love Levon - great band! I hope they'll start doing more live music again.

The comments under the NY Post article about Bo are not nice...

From Levon Helm's website...

"The Levon Helm Band will be performing on The Imus In The Morning Show, Friday, October 9th. You will be able to view the show on the Fox Business Network (FBN)
Or listen on WABC Radio"

A note to fans planning to see The Levon Helm Band within the next few weeks:
Levon lost his voice while we were on the road on June. The good news is that a biopsy of his vocal cord a few weeks ago resulted in a diagnosis of NO CANCER, however he does need to remain on vocal rest so that he can heal. He was diagnosed with a lesion on his vocal cord from acid reflux which was removed by laser. He will sing again, following some rigorous vocal lessons with his vocal coach, but he does need to take it slowly. Thanks to you, his loyal and loving fans, he's been welcomed to the stage with shouts and cheers and sounds of encouragement through this healing process.

Hmm. If Levon was diagnosed back in June, he's fortunately had a little bit of time to cope with it.

I happen to know a little bit about the condition, so I can say that if a patient with nodules tries keeps the talking to a minimum and other "harsh" vocal issues like coughing and yelling and throat-clearing, he should be fine. As for the reflux, if a patient avoids the foods that cause that, as well as drinks a lot of water and cuts back on cigarettes/alcohol, he should recover somewhat. If he's had it removed, then he's probably focusing on vocal care and hygiene right now, as well as prevention for another one. Luckily, Levon probably has the best possible doctors, so I'm sure he'll be fine.

Of course, I haven't seen his scans, so I have no idea about the true state of his voice. (And no, I'm not a doctor - I just play one on the Internet. ;)

I will say that the Imus program really made me appreciate his work. Before I started listening, I had heard of "The Weight," and that was about it. Now, they're one of my favorite "bands." (wocka wocka). I always look forward to Levon's appearances, and I'm happily anticipating this one.
