Another Week, Another Post

-Rob Bartlett will be at the Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury, Connecticut, this Saturday, September 26. For more information, click here.

-"I have a new favorite radio station," my coworker announced to me the other day. "My boyfriend has Sirius satellite radio in his car, and he showed me his favorite channel. Have you ever heard of 'Outlaw Country'? "

"Oh yeah, I've heard of that!" I said. (For the record, this coworker doesn't listen to Imus.) "So what do you think of it?"

"Well..." She paused, as if trying to come up with the right word. "It's very...uh...rambunctious."

So there you have it. If you like rambunctious radio, try Outlaw Country!

(I've cut out all the parts of us singing her favorite song on the channel, which involves Willie Nelson and Brokeback Mountain. I'm sure you've heard of it.)

I love my XM radio.

I wish Imus were on XM radio because it's hard to get 77 WABC in South NJ :\

Ha, Willie truly is one of a kind...

I hope everything works out with Bo...and Jane Goodall is probably the last person I'd have expected to appear on the program, but that was pretty cool idea.

Wonder what Begala said today? Was Mr. Begala his usual charming self?

Glad Imus gives a few minutes notice before bringing Begala on the air.

Poor Chuck...

Someday, if, on IITM, you hear the sounds of somebody jumping over the desk and rustling the person on the other side of the desk to the ground...

Don't worry, it's just Chuck.

Imus and Glenn Beck connect the dots.

I am posting this in case you all have not seen the cover of Glenn Beck's new book....too funny.

Glen Beck goes to FOX and becomes about the most popular guy on TV!

Maybe the same thing will happen to Imus!

Doug McIntyre is leaving his morning show on KABC Los Angeles, to host the 5-6 AM slot for WABC. The paper does not make it clear whether this will be a straightforward news, or opinion based program. But it is expected to begin "immediately."
The article states that while he will be doing the hour long show from New York, eventually McIntyre may broadcast it from L.A. This is because he may also resume a popular late night program he had done for KABC...http://www.ocregister.com/articles/starting-kabc-program-2578023-morning-drive%22

Now that IITM has hit the big time with FOX, Chuck probably told them to get somebody else for that 5 - 6AM hour...who needs it!

McCord is no doubt glad to give up that news hour...

It probably has more to do with logistics and the fact they're moving to the Fox Studios.

Too bad about the newshour...but I agree, going over to Fox is much better and beneficial for everyone.

Plus, I'm sure that even though Charles gets an extra hour of sleep, the I-man can still provoke him into hair-trigger raging tirades :)

I-Man comes out of the news talkin' about Outlaw Country!!

I had the honor and pleasure of meeting the former Mr. 'Juan More Cow' last evening at the Seven Angels. Apparently, he's changed his name to 'Juan More Dollar' or something.

You got a mighty fine following of folks, CG. Walk proudly, young lady!

Rob, thanks for the kind words. The pleasure of the meeting was all ours. Not only are you an incredibly talented, funny man on stage you are a gracious and patient man with your fans. (That's a hint to anyone who might otherwise be hesitant to approach him after a show.)

Folks, at the risk of making this sound like a suck up, Rob was his always fantastic self last night at the Seven Angels Theater. It's the third time my wife and I have seen his show and they're always fun.

As we waited for the show to start we overheard 2 couples behind us. One couple didn't know who Rob Bartlett is (amazing but true). The other couple did. Upon seeing some musical instruments on stage, the wife of the unknowing couple asked, "So what is Rob Bartlett? Is he a singer or what?"

Someone across the aisle said, "The punch lines come so fast you start laughing at one before you've stopped laughing at the previous one."

The audience rewarded Rob with 3 standing "O's." On his last trip on stage he sat down and held a Q & A with the audience.

Rob must have taken a bus to the theater last night because he brought Blind Mississippi White Boy Pigs Feet Dupree, Bill Clinton, Godfather and ALL the Beatles with him.

CG, I understand from a "mutual very funny friend" that you may be visiting the city soon. Please give us a report when you return.

That Fred, always up to his old tricks...:) The bottle cap story did not disappoint.

Thank you for the very kind words, Robio. And Juan, thank you for sharing that wonderfully-written account. It sounds like it was quite an enjoyable night.

(And I have to say, if people pay $40 apiece to see you perform, and yet they've never even heard of you, then you know you're doing something right! :)
