FBN

Lots of interesting articles about this story. This one, as of now, is probably the most up-to-date and detailed. Here's another from the New York Daily News and yet another from New York Times. (There are many more, but it would take me forever to list them all.)

Thanks to everyone who sent in articles. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks for passing on the links, CG. I at first thought this was a ridiculous idea, but it's starting to make lots of sense when I read about the potential format. Let's face it - who wants to watch pure business news these days? Gotta have some humor to keep us from putting our heads in the oven!!

I'm feeling a little queasy about this, actually. Worried about what a tight structure would do to the spontanaiety of the show.

Well, people have been asking for changes to Imus in the Morning...

Well, change number one was the decision not to renew Karith's contract and now it looks like change number two is about to come our way..

The all new business-type format...it could work out ok, i guess..

we're sick of politicians anyways...

aren't we?

Imus on FBN would be a good thing. They have the studios. They need a bit of a boost in ratings and it would work.

No more security cam TV from RFD-TV and excellent production will happen.

Unlike some here I believe it would be a great mix with WABC Radio.

I don't think Imus will be kept to strict Business only format. I think they will lean toward business news and sprinkle in the rest of current events, pundits, politicians ect.. I am hoping the old guest power rotation will stay in place for the most part or be added into the mix somehow. I like Craig Crawford, Carl Jeffers, Michael Graham, Monica Crowley,Laura Ingraham ect.. I think it would be a mistake to just go straight business news format strictly.

This should raise Tony's profile more folks will get to know him. I liked Karith, I would be happy if she ended up taking that woman Sherry's place on the View or something, because Karith is southerner from Plano, Texas and her manners are smoother than some of the women they have on the view. Her humor isn't so mean natured. I think it would be a good fit maybe help Barbara Walters ratings?

Will we still see James Carville and Paul Begala, Lou Dobbs? Will CNN let them come on FBN?

Here's more, yo...

If he brought along even a fraction of his current audience, Imus could easily give a huge boost to Fox Business' numbers. A cable news insider I spoke with believes that FBN could actually overtake CNBC in the morning by signing him. "I don't think you attract a guy like Imus to shut the channel down," says the source. "You bring a guy like Imus to set you up for the real business news of the day with a really big audience."

That's very neat, thanks for the article.

I definitely think it's OK to have some misgivings about the whole deal. It'll be a different environment, and the show will likely have to adjust to certain changes. But, in the end, we'll see if it works out.

MMMMMMMM......

"At Fox Business News it's so good you can watch with the sound off. At CNBC you have to watch with an air sick bag by your side".

LOL!!

From today's NY Times. I guess if the "All The News That Fit To Print" prints it, it may be true. Or not....... LOL!

Fox Business Needs a Lift. Could It Be Don Imus?

Just read the whole article. It's a pretty good "story". We'll see.

Negotiations in "advanced" stages?

which means that it is totally gonna happen!

A Fox spokeswoman declined to comment about the negotiations, saying only that "we talk to engaging and interesting talent all the time." (08-17-09)
