Remotes and Stuff

This is a great article about the recent remote in Providence, RI.

The station that sponsored the event belongs to the "True Oldies" network, and in accordance with that theme, their website is covered with bright, happy, psychedelic colors. And then you get to their Imus page:

So, OK, the Imus program is not this oldies station's sunshine on a cloudy day. In fact, it isn't even their month of May. A shame, really.

Maybe the Providence station would rather be playing Imus in the Morning 'oldie' shows...

and when you think about it, those old Imus shows were pretty hilarious...

and speaking of Stuff...

Interesting that Phil Boyce has become the new boss at TalK Radio Network...

and interesting that Mr. Boyce thinks highly of Bernard as a talk show host...

hmmm....

It IS very interesting....

Speaking of various people hosting shows, that "NewsHour" thing that Charles is doing sounds interesting. I wonder what exactly that will entail. Anyway, good for him.

I get the impression that Charles will be doing 'straight' news and business-news reports...

But, then again, maybe McCord will doing his RFD news ticker reports, also?!

lol

Ooh, here's a story about that program:

It sounds awesome; I'm going to try to listen. They'll do a great job.

Also, I hate to ask, but...could we have picked a better picture to go with that article? ;-) Sometimes "getting the first picture that comes up on Google Image Search" doesn't quite cut it. :-)

Oh Charles, Charles, Charles, how I love thee.

Nowadays I get up at 7, and depending on the number of seconds into 7:00am (darn twenty year-old slightly inaccurate alarm clocks!) that I wake up, nothing gets me giddier than a school girl than waking up to his top of the hour intro.

Back in the day at WFAN when the I-Man wasn't as fancy pants with having Ed introduce him at five after the hour with Shea Stadium 8th inning rally music (EXACT same beat!), Chuck would open with "This IS the Imus in the Morning Radio Program." Chills, chills.

Oh wow. "This *IS* the Imus in the Morning program..." I always loved hearing him say that. Good times, good times. :-)

...and Imus may be an occasional guest on Chuckie's new show?

If Imus wasn't a guest, it wouldn't be the "IMUS news hour".

I know that picture of Charles, it was his headshot from 1971.

Ghastly, ain't it?...McCord is a heck of a lot handsomer in person!

He has aged about 8 months since 1971, so good for him. :-)

Charles and I were born 6 days apart. I wish the aging had worked as well for me as it did for him.

Those "young kids" have all the luck. :-)
