No Longer "Going At It As Hard As They Can"

This makes me sad.

Very sad...I'm listening to Steve Somers right now and let's just say that very few callers are talking baseball. Curious to see what the I-Man, and of course, Francesa have to say later today.

Wow - how is Somers handling it?

This is the definitely the time to crank up "Enter Sandman" and reminisce, no doubt.

Guess they are all being professional about it. I haven't been listening to WFAN since Imus. Radio is a funny business. By next week, the NY sports teams will be back as subjects on WFAN. For now, Chernoff and the suits will let fans vent.

I'm disappointed and sad too, CG. Mike and Chris were so entertaining and funny, and I learned a lot about sports while listening. They were so supportive of Imus when he was fired. Remember when they were on in the morning as well as doing their afternoon show last summer? I credit them with helping me get through my "withdrawal" from the Imus show. There was a great profile of them in The New Yorker a few years back that everyone who cares about them should read. Mike seemed to be the steadying influence and I found Chris to be delightfully wacky--and both are so smart. Also, did I hear this correctly today? Did they say they may open the ranch experience to couples?? All fees to go to the ranch, of course. Wow.

Yeah, this whole thing is definitely crazy...

Did Imus really say that he might open the ranch to couples? I didn't catch the entire show, so I missed that. I agree: wow.

College Girl,

Haven't replayed the entire show as of yet. But a discussion about "Couples" at the Imus Cattle Ranch for Kids with Cancer" sound a little far fetched. But then again there may be some underlying cause of saying that.

On the Mike and Mad Dog Thing. I am a sports fan, but never listened to a sports station in my life. So personally cannot comment on their program.

Keep up the good Work

I don't think Hackensack which is the TRUE owner of the ranch (look at thier annual report...it is the medical center that owns the ranch...not Imus)would be all that crazy on the idea...what is next, make the place an out and out dude ranch for anyone with the $$$??
