The Groom of Satan

Since Hillary has now dropped out of the race, I thought it was a great time to show this video from Nightline in 1992. It's Imus interviewing Bill when he was running for president.

It is memorable for a number of reasons, such as the extremely retro look of WFAN; the creepiness of watching Ted Koppel hang out in Bill Clinton's hotel room; and the numerous disturbing shots of Bill Clinton splayed on the couch. But it's also full of some great Imus stuff.

I'm sure that both parties probably hate this video today, but I really like it.

Ahhh, the reason I actually voted for him. He was a "bubba" on Imus and KNEW what he was getting into.

And Carville? Boy,he was thin!

And Ted's hair!

Good stuff. TY CG...(now that you have graduated, are we to call you PCG?Post College Girl?)

OMG that was brilliant. Charles looks exactly the same, too! I must admit that every time they showed the hotel room, I was looking for Satan to see if she was cackling along.

CG (College Grad),
Yet again what a great find! I agree that the crotch shots of Bill were creepy though. It seems that at the time nobody was taking the "bimbo eruptions" seriously. I wonder which ones had come out by then? Imus implied he thought they were just rumors or false accusations (maybe he was being polite).

The best thing was how the Clinton team thought it was such a big deal to be on the Imus show :)

Thanks for the laughs!

...and for most guests, it's still a totally big deal to be on with Imus...

Bill Clinton probably still loves the I-Man...

Oh, man...that video is epic for every reason that you guys just mentioned...plus it's crazy how young everyone looked. (Or "still look", it Charles' case.)

Also, when it showed Clinton decked out in his jogging gear, did anyone else think of the SNL "President Clinton at McDonald's" sketch, where Phil Hartman stops in a McDonald's while jogging and eats everybody's food? Awww, I miss Phil.

As for my name...a very good question. I will have to think about that. :-)

I think my favorite part of Mr. Powell's platform is his ingenious idea to combat NYC parking, global warming, and unemployment: hitch all the homeless people up to a wagon, feed them McDonald's, and have them pull people around the city. "Da da da DA da, I'm lovin' it!" I still laugh at that routine, even now.
