Pwnage, One Year Later

So guess whose ratings have doubled?

According to this article, Imus' ratings this December are more than twice than what they were during his last few months at the 'FAN. At WABC, he has a 5.6; at WFAN, he had a 2.5.

You should seriously take the time to read the article. Remember all those people from last spring, the ones who were jumping up and down because they got some old guy fired from his job?

The majority of this piece consists of quotes from the same people, a year later, who say in a defeatist tone that Imus won. And that all of THEIR actions either amounted to nothing, or exacerbated the racial tension in our society.

I totally wish that I could mail this article back to my April 2007 self...

When "the event" happened, I said to people, "Imus will be back, better than ever, there will be no change in people's minds about race in America (outside of NASCAR) and the world will just move on..."

You're welcome. :)

CG, wouldn't we all have loved to see into the future. Of course, your blog title sent me to the urban dictionary - thanks for the new word, although I can't think of an occasion to use it :)

I decided to skip confession and penance this morning in favor of music.

For other uses, see PWN.
Look up Pwn in
Wiktionary, the free dictionary is a leetspeak slang term that implies domination or humiliation of a rival, used primarily in the Internet gaming culture to taunt an opponent who has just been soundly defeated. Past tense is sometimes spelled pwnt (pronounced with a t sound), pwned, pwnd, pwn3d, or powned (with the standard d sound). Examples include "pwnage" or "you just got pwned". It can also be used, especially by non-gamers, in the context of getting "pwned" by The Man.

In Internet security jargon, to "pwn" means "to compromise" or "to control", specifically another computer (server or PC), web site, gateway device, or application; it is synonymous with one of the definitions of hacking or cracking. An outside party who has "owned" or "pwned" a system has obtained unauthorized administrative control of the system.

Imus herding cattle, Jesse Jackson picking up the strays SMILE.

I am humming rawhide, while I type this Chuckling. Look all those folks were exhibiting herd mentality last April...today Jesse Jackson made a guest spot on Imus in the Morning, almost a year to the date later...so what will happen now, I suspect the herd will turn and Imus will be accepted again at least by all the folks who have jumped on the Obama wagon.

Head em up... Head em out...Move em out Rawhide..Cowboying New York Style.

Hey, she just "misspoke" :)

I'm a Rutgers alum and a big fan of the women, but she's been extremely annoying the way she keeps trying to streatch out her 15 minutes of fame and victimhood by bringing up Imus at every opportunity. I know she has a book to sell, but jeez!

I sat down to watch one of the games on ESPN and the pre-game show consisted of a rehash of the Imus incident and a whining interview with Stringer - so I changed channels and watched the men instead. Speaking of which, back to the games..
