Muahahahahaha

I know that I'm a little late on this, but I still can't help feeling a little schadenfreude...

It IS interesting how Obama wants everyone to cut Wright some slack and consider Wright's good work that he has performed from his whole life...

But when it came to Imus, it's, like, hell no, we can't cut Imus ANY slack...no one cared about Imus' good, whole life work...they just wanted to hang Imus.

But, as classy Imus says, "it's a minor point"...

Also interesting how tapes of more Black minister sermons are surfacing...which prompts Imus to state, "it ain't the White Swift boaters that Obama needs to worry about"

Last April, I was so horrified when I read that Obama had compared Imus' words to the Virginia Tech shootings. He had said that Imus used "verbal violence" against the Rutgers girls. 'Cause, you know, words are as bad as bullets.

And I remember thinking, "Why is nobody calling Obama on this? Don't they realize how wrong this is?"

If I could only go back in time and tell my April 2007 self that yes, Imus WILL emerge victorious and end up on a better station...and yes, Obama WILL be called on his "words" hypocrisies. :-)

Many bloggers are citing this "two faced" approach with Hobama. If it doesn't cost the guy the election, it will definately cripple him in the "trust" department. If you or I went to a church/temple/mosque that had so much hate and vitriol, you'd confront the pastor, priest, imam or rabbi and tell them so. You sure wouldn't STAY for 20 years!!

Acording to those who regularly attend Wright's church, this man ain't no dummy, speaks three langauges, knows the Bible upsidedown and backwards. But look at what he will be known for forever...and as Imus knows, no amount of good works will get Wright's evil language of hate out of the American psyche.

Imus, now more cautious with his words, since THE EVENT, knows what's cooking and it ain't just breakfast!

Off topic, I'm sorry...

Anyone know if Rob filmed a commercial for the new MLB play station game featuring Mets player Jose Reyes on the cover? I just saw this commercial, with Reyes and a guy who looked a lot like Rob shining bats. Anyone know? Thanks.

Laree- I'll update the links site this weekend, thanks.

QueenPat and Al, good points about this Obama preacher thing...it really has gotten out of control, and it seems like his words are really scaring a lot of people (with good reason). So much for the "Obama mystique." Imus' response to all of this has been extremely interesting, don't you think?

Julie, I don't know if Rob did a commercial for the Playstation game, but that would be really awesome. Does anyone know?

I have since gotten confirmation that it is him. I'm trying to find it online to send the link.

Obama would NOT have Don Imus "working for me"... but, hey, in Obama's mind, it's ok that Obama associates with Rev. Wright...

and Obama called his grandmother a "TYPICAL white person"? What if Hillary or McCain refered to a Black person as a TYPICAL Black person?

I was on the Obama bandwagon, but I have to admit that I no longer trust him. I'm starting to think of him as "slick" and even Clintonian, albeit with much more subtlety and style...

I'm afraid the Dems may be blowing it this year, which is unbelievable - I think they could have had a slam-dunk with Biden, Richardson or even Kerry. But they foolishly assumed a Billary inevitability before the race even started.

CollegeGirl said...

Julie, I would love to see that! I appreciate you wanting to send it to me, I can't wait to see it.

As for the Dems, I knew several people who really wanted Bill Richardson or Joe Biden to get the nomination. (Esp. Bill Richardson.) Sadly, like you said, the media made it a Clinton-Obama thing from the start. I can remember watching the Imus show around February '07, and they were already saying things like "Well, we have another two years of Clinton and Obama in the media, so we might as well get used to it."
(And here's a life lesson I've learned from Obama's racial slights. If you're going to dismiss anyone as a "typical white person"...don't do it to your grandmama. That's kinda wrong...:-)

I have to agree with Dee. I'd been assuming for the past month or so that I'd be walking into the booth on Nov 4th undecided between Obama and McCain. But four things changed all that:
1. The chickens came home to roost on 9/11
2. The American government planted AIDS on black people
3. God damn America
4. As great as Senator Obama's words are, he cannot defend having a relationship with someone who believes those above three
