3/25

Two things that struck me as I listened to yesterday's show:

1) Bo Dietl mentioned how the Exxon Valdez oil spill harmed the Alaskan wildlife, specifically "the birds, the penguins." Had Mr. Dietl seen the excellent nature documentary Happy Feet, he would have known that penguins live in Antarctica.

2) If Charles ever needs to make extra money, he should consider going into the lucrative "reading aloud dirty text messages sent by politicians" line of work. Sometimes, something makes me laugh so hard that I lose control of myself and have to stop what I'm doing. Charles' eloquent reading of Mayor Kilpatrick's conversations nearly made me cry...from laughter.

CG,
I loved Happy Feet, you make me want to watch it again!
Yes, that was a great reading of the text message by Charles - spit out coffee funny. And my fave, Pigs Feet Dupree sang today so if you haven't heard it yet you have that to look forward to.

Charles is insane...lol

and yes, the Pigs feet song was one of Rob's...I mean, Pig's Feet's better efforts!

And that reminds me of Rob, which rieminds me of Tony Powell...

Have you noticed how much lee-way Imus gives Tony? Tony writes and says stuff(hilarious, btw) that Bernard would get killed for, if Bernard said some of that stuff...

Well, Charles does have the creep-o porn star moustache already.

Next time the I-Man takes sick for the day, Pigs Feet should sub. He could conduct entire interviews in song.

Come to think of it, I think it'd be fun to annoy my friends by conducting entire conversations in the Pigs Feet melody.

Feets tune another marvel from Bartlett. He always brings good stuff to the table. My bf and I are attending Rob's show 4/12 and now we find out something new has been added: An opener, Tony Powell. Is he showing up in a blonde beehive wig and spangly dress?

This will be interesting, in that we will now see just how funny Tony can be with his actual material in front of an audience. Fans heard a little bit of just how ...Tony and Karith did in Boston...

Well, Bernard was on a roll today when he got the whole group started on the hookers speaking multiple languages. I was sitting here with headphones on laughing my butt off; my husband was laughing at ME.

Where's the video of Bernard eating and grossing the I-Man out while Imus was in the middle of an interview?

Mr. Robio,

Thank you for your very kind words - that means a lot. You are awesome. :-)

And...I also have to share my love for Pigs Feet Dupree. He is one of my favorites.

When the Eliot Spitzer thing broke, and we found out that he was sleeping with an aspiring musician named "Dupre"...I couldn't help but wonder if she and Feets were related...

...And TOny does get away with a lot of stuff. Calling the I-man and Charles his bitches, getting to use some of the racier language, things like that. In fairness, though, it seems that everyone is loosening up a little. (Someone said "hos" the other day, and nobody complained.) And Bernie is getting a little braver.

Speaking of Bernie, I'm happy to hear they got a camera across the street...even if I don't get RFD in the dorms. :-P On an unrelated note, I miss watching Imus clips on Youtube. There are a ton of pre-April ones, but there are only a few from the RFD days.

Actually,, someone complained about Tony...guess the PC Cops are after Tony?

Imus read some letter, or something, a little after 6:30 this morning....I just caught the tale end of it...

Apparently someone or some group was offended by something Tony said?...

The email that was sent to Farid Suleman of Citadel Broadcasting this. And I will put on this blog the same as I have on Imus Times.

Here is where you can contact that nut from the “National Coalition of 100 Black Women” to make your voice known. If it is important to you.

http://www.ncbw.org/contact_us.htm

My comment to her.

Your letter to Farid Suleman regarding Don Imus was way out of line. I respect your opinion but I renounce and reject your interpretation of his “Imus Theatre On the Air”.
Do you Marva Smith Battle-Bey understand it is “Satirical Comedy”? Or are you ignorant.

Two African Americans played the parts you depicted in your email to Mr. Suleman of Citadel Broadcasting. You will not tarnish Mr. Imus’ record of his current show by making such ignorant observations.

When you renounce and reject Obama’s Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s hate speeches on the pulpit of a Christian Church then I will respect you. And so will over 10 Million Imus supporters.

Until then just keep your opinions in your pocket. It will not change the programming of that station one bit.

Sincerely,

Bruce

Wonder why Imus read a letter that was sent to Farid...wonder if Farid made Imus read it...wonder if Farid sent a response back to the letter-writer...

Strange deal. Unless this is Farid's way of putting pressure on the Imus team.

All I know, is that when the boss gives me a complaint letter that was sent to HIM, it means the boss is basically telling me to "take care of it, I don't want any more letters like this"...

That's a good point which I never really considered...why would Mr. Suleman send this to the I-Man? Was it a warning? I initially assumed that he just wanted to keep Imus abreast of the situation. Could it have been something else?

I do remember reading that Farid refused to meet with Al Sharpton after hiring Imus, He became my new hero at that moment.

It was a good wakeup call, though, as to all of the crap that the show still has to deal with. I didn't listen to Friday's program until yesterday, when I was working, so I knew already that someone had sent them a whiny letter. But I still couldn't believe how ridiculous it was.
