RFD Signs Deal With Comcast

"Viewers in Washington, D.C., Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, among other big cities, moved a step closer on Wednesday to being able to see a simulcast of Don Imus’s morning radio show on television.

"Patrick Gottsch, the founder and president of RFD-TV, a cable channel that carries Mr. Imus’s show but primarily chronicles life in rural America, said on Wednesday morning that he had signed an affiliation agreement with Comcast, the nation’s largest cable operator. That means RFD-TV is now authorized to begin negotiations to be carried on individual Comcast cable systems, including those in Baltimore, Detroit, Philadelphia, Seattle, Denver and Nashville."

Great...wonder how long these negotiations will take...

1 year?...2 years?...

If negotiating with Comcast is anything like waiting for the Comcast website to load...then the negotiations will take FOREVER

Great show today! Coombs was terrific, alot better than he is on Hannity and Coombs.

Great breaking news about Brittany and great stimulating talk from the big time guests!

I have been spelling Alan's last name Combs, it is Colmes. Alan Colmes hails from Canada doesn't he? You know Bernie was always making jokes about Alan Colmes, marrying a Philipean mail order bride for her green card.

It is weird the advertizers don't get that Imus has been put on a 7 hour delay. I mentioned on Imustruth I would have them start doing funny edorsement spots all day on 77WABC. Bill Gates endorsement, Imus sold me telegraph stock :) I bought alot it can only go up!

McCord FTW!!! I always love it when he just loses it - those are my favorite parts of the show, bar none. And I love it when he and the I-Man start bickering at each other - too funny. This morning was a classic.

And Colmes was good too. He's an interesting guy. (Oh, and Laree, I checked - Colmes was born and raised in NYC.)

Michael Kay should be fun...

Oh MAN, LOL...according to Wikipedia, Colmes' wife works at Rutgers...in the WOMEN's STUDIES DEPARTMENT.
Awkwaaaaard....

College Girl,

His wife is Monica Crowley's sister, we know how Monica feels about Imus. I wonder why they are always making fun of Alan Colmes being from another country all time. Well that just goes to show what happens if you miss something in the conversation You just get the punch line! Wow womans studys at Rutgers, that can't be an easy gig GRIN

Wonder what job Imus turned down, "because they wouldn't take Bernard"??

and 1050 ESPN radio is becoming a big deal...they just signed with XM Satellite...they gonna be kicking WFAN's butt soon...AND, Imus is increasingly becoming cozy with the personalities at 1050...

College Girl,

Off topic but I know how you feel about the Newsweeks folks so this is a little update about Howard Fineman using mascara.

Howard colors his hair, too!

So, I turned on the TV and there's no RFD...

how long I gotta wait for Comcast to add RFD to the existing channel lineup out here?

I'm so excited to hear that Comcast has come to its
senses and signed a deal. I sure bugged them enough.
I hope they don't wait too long. I'm getting old........
Now I feel like my best friends are coming back.
