Equal Time

Way back on February 9th, Imus became so mad at Chris Carlin that he fired him. Naturally, Carlin was rehired two minutes later - but not after being yelled at.

Why did Imus become so angry, you ask? What was the Continent's transgression? Well, it turns out that Carlin was not spending enough time on college women's basketball.

Watch the video here.

College Girl,ChannelX,

This is another track back to the days of Al Roker and Matt Lauer and Brian Williams...I was reading Chickaboomer, Marty Davis, I didn't realize Marty was following this from the beginning.
You will note chickaboomer is mentioned in this article about Al Roker. This is Columbia Journalism Report cjr.

College Girl,

I posted to Supportimus.org, the two video clips, where Chris Carlin gets ripped part 1 and 2 making the argument that if he took less days off, there might not be a site called Supportimus org. Water under the bridge. The one thing I noticed in those two clips, the guys were trying to whip him into husband material, in a short amount of time...and Bernie, kept reminding Carlin of his responsibility to Mr Imus and the program. Bernie was on top of things if you follow this video up with the other two you see Bernie was probably trying to add some jazz to the lady's basketball sports coverage...I know unless somebody watched or listened, they probably wouldn't have taken it that way...but it was a way to generate some buzz, for women's college basketball. Rutgers, would have been the home team, in a manner of speaking. My take on the whole thing, they trash talking like people do when sports are involved.

I'm still troubled by the fact that Imus is just basically returning to a LOCAL market..although NY is a pretty big market...

Citadel seems to be going pretty slow in the Syndication of Imus...it's like they want to see how much "juice" Imus has, THEN they might push his show Nationally...

Imus in the Morning is not the same if it doesn't have a National radio audience.

I agree, Al. The show would not be the same if it were just a "local" show.

That said, while Citadel may be employing a "wait and see" approach, at least we know that some people genuinely want him (example: Boston).

Imus wouldn't want just a "local" show; he went into this radio deal with the idea of gaining the most "exposure" possible. While his show may be unique to NYC in December, it will branch out in January.

Hope you're right about the RADIO show branching out, College Girl...

because we need to be able to listen to Imus in the car, in the morning...

the Internet and TV don't work all that well in the car...
