Rockin' the Beacon

So apparently, the premiere show of the resurrected Imus in the Morning will not be in the WABC studios.

According to (wait for it...) Neil Best, Imus and the gang will be hosting their premiere show at the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan. The Beacon has a very rich history and has hosted countless musical acts.

Several questions:

1) Are they going to have a live audience?
2) If so, are they out of their MINDS?
3)Could this possibly be one of the most memorable concert experiences ever?

If so, this blog will keep you posted on tickets information, logistics, and so forth.

Something tells me that, for all its history, this will be the busiest that the Beacon has ever been at 6 AM on a weekday...

I was just thinking...

What's the deal with syndication? What does Neil best say about that?

I'm out West, and if Imus doesn't get on a station out here. well....

...no use to get excited about his return.

Listening to Imus on an Internet stream seems kind of ridiculous.

Al,

But if you wanted to you could stream Imus and probably you could subscribe to pod cast, listen anytime of day.

Thanks, Laree,
I went to the WABC website, scrolled down and saw a 'Meet Laura Ingraham' link...yikes!

I'll check back to the website later when I'm better prepared for what I might find on that site...

lol

Al, as for those musical guests, how about "All of the above"? :-) I'm sure that Levon is a given - he was there on the last episode of "Imus in the Morning," and he's amazing. Plus, you know that Imus isn't renting out an entire concert venue just for himself. There have to be multiple musical guests.

As for western stations...I have heard that KABC out of Los Angeles will be picking him up. How well do you get that station? At any rate, rest assured that A. someone will likely provide podcasts of the show, where you can download it and listen at any time; and B. a television simulcast IS on the way, eventually.

So, I trust that you'll be in the crowd at the Beacon, Dec 3rd, CollegeGirl?

Thanks for the tip on KABC...

As I check some of the Citadel owned stations around the West, a common sentiment is being expressed by current Morning DJ's...

They're all afraid the they are gonna lose their Morning gig to Don Imus!

lol.

Well, if they had ratings and were bringing in the Big bucks for the station, they wouldn't have to worry, no?

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Imus did the RFD-TV thing...just out of loyalty and admiration for Ranchers, Cowboys, cattlemen/women...

After all, the Ranch IS in rural America...Imus IS a Cowboy...

he'd have the best of both worlds...WABC for the "Big City" folks and RFD for the "Country/Rural folks...
